How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University helped me achieve my goals by giving me the space to grow as an individual and they provided me the best support system. The Office of Career and Professional Development helped me starting my freshman year to learn what makes someone successful in their career.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dr. Scott Ingram, assistant professor of criminal justice, was my most impactful mentor at HPU. He helped me find out what I wanted to do after graduation.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “My most impactful moment was during my sophomore year when I was unsure if HPU was the right place for me. After taking classes with my mentor Dr. Ingram, I knew HPU was the best fit.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “HPU’s environment helped me grow because it was so welcoming and made me feel at home.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “I learned to speak in front of a large group of people. Before coming to HPU, I never thought I could stand up and give a speech to a crowd of people.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Don’t stress the little things. Life may throw curveballs at you but it’s how you handle them that makes you a better person.”
