MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A 19-12 months-old guy is recovering tonight after becoming shot in the vicinity of Beale Road early this morning.
City and county leaders are chiming in on how to continue to keep the historic street safe and sound, in particular right before a busy Memphis in Might weekend.
Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland suggests his stance has not altered in regards to how to make Beale Road safer.
He states we have to close the bars before and strengthen private protection on weeknights.
Law enforcement say just after 1 a.m. Thursday early morning officers ended up flagged down on Second Avenue wherever a man was shot.
He was taken to Regional A single in vital condition.
Police say the 19-yr-old sufferer was in possession of a gun stolen from a vehicle in Oct of 2021.
Memphis Police also say two allegedly involved in the incident ended up cited for illegal possession of a weapon, but no expenses have been filed in the taking pictures or aggravated assault.
